Members of the Japanese American Delegation who visited Yomitan Village kindly stopped by the Yomitan Dojo.
As part of their experience to gain a deeper understanding of Okinawa’s history and culture, we received a request for them to learn traditional Okinawan karate, which made this exchange possible ✨
The program was structured in two parts:
the first half consisted of a lecture, followed by hands-on karate training in the second half.
We shared how karate originated in Okinawa and has been passed down over many generations as a traditional martial art with profound spiritual values.
We also spoke about Sensei Kenyu CHINEN, the founder of our organization, and explained how the teachings of karate can be applied to everyday life.
The participants listened with great interest and attentiveness.
Many of the participants have roots in Okinawa, and through the culture and spirit of karate, hearts were connected, making this a truly meaningful and valuable exchange.
